Eliazer Bancroft moved from Vermont to Lancaster,
Erie Co., N. Y., in 1840, and later "from his first
place of abode to that part of the same town that
afterwards (4 Dec. 1856) became a part of the
township of Elma", where he spent the rest of his
life. He was engaged in Lumbering and farming, and
enjoyed reading history and biography during his
later years.
