Kermott Allen, Louis named was spelled Lewis and he
was baptized at Sutton, Mass., in September 28,
1794. It also states that Lewis evidently moved to
Vermont, as the Vermont Historical Gazetteer, vol.
IV, p. 174, mentions Lewis Bancroft as a "lister",
living in 1866 at Calais, Vermont. His ancestor
says his name was Louis and that he was born
Montpelier,
Vermont, he lived at no. 60 West Washington Street,
Clark County, Springfield, Ohio. His occupation was
in General Mercantile and was a member of the
Universalist Church. He also was a soldier in the
War of 1812. He died at the age of 91 and is buried
at Fairhaven Cemetery, Clark County, Springfield,
Ohio on 8/31/1884.
